As the existing philosophy group, Philosophy Matters, is full, and has members in very regular attendance, the idea of starting a second group has arisen. My name is Peter Chapman. I tried to join Philosophy Matters last year and went on to a waiting list, like several others. I am keen to start up a second group and I have been encouraged to do so.
What would a second group focus on? I would be happy to guide a new group towards working out a programme of study, including reading, but I would hope that all potential members would contribute their own ideas and questions so that we could all have a stake in an evolving programme. No previous knowledge of philosophy would be expected. However, those with some previous knowledge would, of course, be welcome.
If, on reading this, you would be interested in joining this proposed group, or know of anyone else who might be interested, please let me know
