The Garden Group offers a programme of monthly winter lectures or activities and summer garden visits. All winter meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month in the Thomas Clarkson Centre from 2pm-4pm Summer garden visits are generally all day leave and return from Ram Meadow car park. The group is run by a committee of four members. We charge a fee for membership to cover the hire of the Thomas Clarkson Centre, the visiting speaker fee and…

The group has been discussing issues in philosophy for over two years. Some members have followed Bryan Magee’s excellent The Story of Philosophy. However, this book does not cover the most recent phase of the English language and European philosophy, so the newly constituted group is starting to explore these recent ideas and hoping to find a book that will help us with focus and detail.
