Monthly Talk – Reflections on VE DAY

The Elderberries, together with their leader Karen Norris, will be singing popular songs from WWII, reflecting on VE Day celebrations in London and here in Bury St Edmunds. Music will range from well known songs such as ‘White Cliffs of Dover’, to the beautiful ‘We will Remember Them’ by Elgar, and some nostalgic hymns of the time. In between these, we will be reflecting on Peace with some more songs, including a prayer for Ukraine and some music written by the composers John Rutter and Kevin Mayhew. There will be some audience participation of course!
