Monthly Talk – Agincourt, October 25th 1415: the most comprehensive victory by an English army on foreign soil.

The talk is to be given by Michael Whatley
Agincourt is not just the most famous battle in English history but is the story of one man’s determination to restore a reputation of ‘The Usurper’ handed down by his father. If he won the battle it proved that it was God’s will that he should inherit the throne. The odds against him were, some say, five to one, but judge for yourself and hear the story from the beginning.

Michael Whatley is a retired solicitor who has had a lifelong love of history from his earliest days at school. Since he retired he has studied medieval history and has given many talks covering a range of historical subjects, amongst which the one on Agincourt is his favourite.
